Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026
1. Information we collect
When you create an account we collect your email address and a password (stored hashed). During onboarding you provide a display name, age bracket, occupation, and gender. When you check in, we record the venue and a timestamp linked to your account.
2. Location data
find the vibe does not collect precise GPS coordinates. Venue selection is manual: you choose the venue you're at from a searchable list (powered in part by Google Places). The only "location" data we store is the venue you check in to and its suburb. You can check out at any time, which removes your active check-in.
3. How we use your data
We use your data to operate the Service: showing live, anonymous crowd data (aggregated check-in counts and breakdowns by age bracket, occupation, and gender) to other users, matching you with people of similar age and occupation at the same venue, and personalising your "Your Recent Visits" banner. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. What other users see
Other authenticated users can see aggregated check-in counts and an anonymous breakdown by occupation and age bracket at each venue. Your individual identity and email are never shown publicly.
5. How we store your data
Your data is stored securely via Lovable Cloud (powered by Supabase), with encryption in transit and row-level security controlling who can read what. We use Google Places for venue autocomplete. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms.
6. Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen. Deletion removes your profile, check-in history, and associated data. Email us via the support channel on our homepage if you'd like us to handle the deletion for you or to request a copy of your data first.
7. Australian Privacy Act
find the vibe complies with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you believe we have mishandled your data.
8. Service provided "as is"
While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, the Service is provided "as is" and we cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted over the internet.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Service.
